This was the first film I saw with Barbara Steele in it, and I've had a crush on her since. There's a full, unedited version of this floating around Europe somewhere, and I'd love to find it.

Delightfully dark humor. Stunning gothic visuals. And one very convincing sadist. Weirdly erotic at moments. I loved it!

Sorry, "horseoftroy", but Barbara Steele is so UGLY she makes my eyes bleed. Her face is so skinny it loks like a skull woth lips. And her teeth are enormous!

the judgement
this film is wrapped in gothic horror of the first magnitude. fantastic sets for the most part, ample sound, and a fast moving pace- though dubbed.
it takes some resource to pull away from this film as of course barbara steele is most beautiful, and though one would be bound to think of christopher lee as most likely for at least one of the male parts, the men are adequate to the task.
